I agree with pretty much everything nikelodeon79 said, on other forums I've seen people come just to enter the contests, its kinda sad actually.

But what about those people that post their pictures but help out a ton on the Brazil part of the forum like Alex? I agree with the you get to choose the next months (not something ridiculous though, like there needs to be limits, this is a mostly freshwater forum so, saying something like corals would not be good) subject, and I agree with the you win one month you can't participate in the next months, but you can give a example of what you mean like what was done in this "half year" photo contest.

I'd like to see cool topics, more like 'read between the lines" topics, like "cue the blue!" or "black is back" or "bottom dwellers of the deep" or similar topics...

Haha. Well, this has been an issue before. And in fact, not too long ago we all had to "bump" the forum to get Photo Contests back up and running. I think one of the greatest things about on online fish keeping forum it being able to see photos of others' tanks, and photographing talents. I also agree with Nik.
We have had volunteers before for running the Photo Contest, and maybe it is time we do so again. Nik, if this is a duty you would like to be charged with, hopefully we can have some collaboration and make this happen. |

I think mods should have authority to start and close photo contests, so this doesn't keep happening.
