|

As some of you may know, I have set-up a new 20g aquarium for WCMM (white cloud mountain minnows).
Right not there is nothing in the tank other than some MTS (I don't know where they went...I think the cold water might have been a shock to them...)
The tank doesn't have a light on it, I am just borrowing one from my 10g to light it up for the pictures. Just to let you know, I found that driftwood at a river near my house, I hope to get more for my other tanks.
What I want to be in it:
12 WCMM (Seven of them are in the mail right now, I plan to breed them, thanks again jacko )
MTS
Various plants
Some kind of shrimp...I hear some shrimp do well at a colder temp, thinking of adding some RCS once I get to many from my other tank
Here is the tank, I hope to get a background for it but I don't know what I color I want to go with, black?
Here is a zoom-out of it, don't mind the dirty-clothes hamper, or all of my aquariums begging to be filled, or fixed.
I need advice, so if any of you thinks that something should be done differently please tell me. Thanks.
And more to come.... _________________

I dig the wood! I like how you've got it set up. Any planting plans (can you even plant a cold water tank?)
Black backgrounds always look nice, IMO. Or blue. |

Yes you can plant in coldwater, most of the time more hardy plants, such as crypts, java's, anubias, most plants really, just not the really sensitive ones. I think crypts in the back, Taiwan moss, or some kind of moss on the wood, some anubias on the rocks, and pygmy chain sword as a foreground. I think I might just go with black. _________________

Wasn't quite satisfied with the 'scape I had. So I moved some rocks around and put the driftwood at a different angle!
Sorry for the bad quality of the photo. _________________

Looks good Caton! I'd say your starting to get a good eye for aquascaping . Looking forward to watching the tank grow. _________________ 2500 gallon (9,450 L) Koi Pond

It looks great! The new scape is a bit better IMO... if it weren't for the white clouds I'd say you should do an open top riparium lol _________________

I like the new scape more than the first one, too! Seems a bit more balanced. |

Thank you for the kind comments! I have added around 2 cups of fluorite to the substrate to make it appear a little darker, so far I like it.

You wanted to know what to use for the background - I suggested a picture of a snowstorm, since it is a COLDwater tank |
