OK, I have a 20 gallon long heavily planted. The tank has lots of cherry shrimp and 12 white cloud minnows. I think I have more males than females. Oh, and today I went to the pet shop thinking of buying variety of frozen foods so as to put them in the "mood" and I bought bloodworms, mysis shrimp, daphnia, beefheart(returning this one), and spirulina with brine shrimp(but these are treats for my cichlids)
My concerns are the following:
will my cherry shrimp eat the eggs/newly hatched fry from the white clouds?
Will a ratio of roughly 6m/4f-5m/5f prevent spawning?
Are the foods I bought good?

thanks[/quote]

If they are frozen, yes they can be used but some of them can carry parasites.

The RCS will not eat the eggs/fry.

The ratio you have is fine, however your females may get stressed from the males, you may want to get more, but you never know they are baby making machines.

oh and I forgot to mention, I have a lonely cory cat, which I want to get rid off, my gf gave it to me, not knowing it had to be in groups. I'm assuming he would eat eggs?, its just strange that I have such a good "ecosystem" I've had the minnows for a while now and still no fry
