I've got the API test kit, but this only tests ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH and high range pH. I am interested in getting test kits for GH and KH as well. What is a good set to get?

don't know.. but with the API (which I have) is to be sure you always shake the bottles til your arms fall off or else you will get false readings.

The API gH and KH test kits are decent, but they have a short shelf life.

I use the API ones too.

Some might expire fast, but I have a set that are a little over 3 years past expiry and are reading the same as new test kits. Very Happy I test them once in a while whenever I remember, kind of curious when they will deviate from the in-date kits.

The only API one you have to shake like crazy is the nitrate kit as far as I know and it's a typical problem across most brands not just API.

Well, excellent. I'll just go ahead and order the API one then. It was my original plan, but I thought I'd make sure there wasn't a better choice out on the market somewheres. Smile

Thanks Fern. I'll check to see which one I can find.
