Recently I stumbled across a Cherry Dottyback at the LFS and was very interested in it but I couldnt find much information. Anybody have any experience? I would like to add something quirky and of interest to my 29 gallon reef tank with 2 clowns, 6-line wrasse, yellow watchman, cleaner and pistol shrimp. _________________ 28 gallon freshwater

I think you are talking about Pholidochromis cerasina; this is a relatively new fish to the trade, I believe it was first described officially by Dr. Anthony Gill around 2004... you could try one, BUT be forewarned; the Dottybacks as a group (including the Cherry) can sometimes be really nasty in community tanks; if you decide to try one be sure you have a quarantine system running, so you can move it quickly if it gets too rough and starts to bully your other fish.
Pseudochromids are one of my all time favorite groups; but in that small tank you might want to consider the Orchid Dottyback (Pseudochromis fridmani), as they are usually more peaceful (I said usually, not always) it helps if you can get them captive bred, see the links below for more info... make sure you do not confuse this with Pseudochromis porphyreus, which is similar in color but can be a real terror.

thanks for the links. I'm just really worried that it could eat my cleaner shrimp. Every article warms that it could eat ornamental shrimps _________________ 28 gallon freshwater
