Cats sit on aquarium hoods as the lamp makes it warm. Nothing to do with the fish Laughing

Most likely that is why, I had a extra prawn from cycling (don't worry not after the week's it has been in the tank, before that) and she gobbled it up and acted like she was 'high' Confused , so to have more of a laugh we put some cat nip down for her Laughing

Really cute cat. ... about the lamp warmth thing being the only reason for the cat's interest in the tanks, I beg to differ. My cat sits on the tanks all the time and paws at the glass in a very comical way.. with her face pressed against the glass and pawing from the side.. trying to get at the tasty treats moving inside.

My tetras stop and stare back, but my threadfins in the other tank freak out a bit, making the cat even more excited. It's all quite funny.

No so funny though when she tried to fish them out with her paw with water up to her "elbow", fish zooming all over. Shocked Note to self: ALWAYS remember to close the lid when getting something from the other room.

I know it may sound cruel but I need her to fish out some of the platies, they breed like rabbit's!

LOL, cute cat. I've never seen any of mine sitting on a tank, but I've found pawprints on the sides of tanks that are way too high up for cats to reach otherwise... so they must go up there sometimes when I'm not around. They do like to sit beside the tanks and watch the occupants; one used to have face-offs with a rather aggressive female betta I had.

It seems it is not just my aquarium:

]

If you look closely you can see my bird.

In the backround you can see some of my sheep and lambs.
