I have a Fluval Venezia 190 that has been running fine for a couple of years (tropical), however the lighting system now seems to be failing.

When the lights first come on it's fine for 10-20 minutes and then one of the 2 T5 strip lights either dims or goes off completely.

I've tried replacing both bulbs with no improvement. There doesn't seem to be any water getting in to the bit where the bulbs slot in, although there is no barrier between the light unit and the water surface.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

I've tried searching for a replacement light canopy but they don't seem to be available seperately.

Am I destined to keep cave dwellers..?

Try contacting Hagen directly.

If they get at all stroppy point out that under European law the useful life expectancy is assumed to be 6 years and a warranty is in addition to this.
All you want is a repair or the parts to make your light work.

Good luck,
