How many DIY CO2 bottles should I use for a 33G tank? The bottles are a liter each in size. The main plants which require the CO2 in the tank are the Alternanthera reineckii ''roseafolia''... as I believe the Microsorium & Anubias won't need CO2. The pH in the tank at the moment is 7.2.

Thanks for any advice!

Ernie

I would say you will need at least three bottles (of 1 L DIY CO2) for a 33g tank.

With tanks larger than ~30 gallons, DIY CO2 starts to become a major hassle, and pressurized CO2 begins to look more enticing.

I'd say 3 as well, though if you can swing it a pressurized C02 is the way to go for sure. Depends on the type of person you are really. I never remember / am too lazy to keep refilling the DIY and one day just bit the bullet for a 10 lb C02 tank, regulator, and diffuser. Once you buy it, its only about $15 to refill every couple months.
