I would hazard to say bad in a joking manner? Slow down on the tankage may make her happy.

my parents never would let me get to that stage

I was really close to getting one of my dreams about a year ago. I really want a red devil. Well, my sister got married and I got my dad to take me to A World of Fish. And they happened to have a HUGE red devil in a tank. You could HEAR it biting the glass. I fell in love. My dad wanted it. I explained how big of a tank it needs. He said fine, as long as he could freak out his friends with the big fish. Sadly I had to be the one to say no, we don't have room for a tank that big and no, we can't afford a tank that big right now.

Anyway, another tactic that's worked: Don't ask. Just casually announce your plans for where to put the new tank so it'll make the room look nice. When I wanted another ten gallon so I could have a tank in my room, I pulled a table in my room and cleared open space. My dad was like 'What are you doing?' 'Making room for a ten gallon.' 'Okay. Who's going in it?'

Those are all good ideas. I had to move a room around to fit the second 55 gallon I keep into the room that already contains a 29 gallon. Try finding 50 inches of wall space in a room that only has 100 inches total...not easy. Anyway, I had to move some of her stuff...very dangerous. It worked out fairly well though. I still got the tank! I'm up to 139 gallons now!

I think it is a bad reaction from your wife, maybe your wife wants you to stop being so into fish or being crazy bout your fish..
but I don't think she'll stop you from that specially that is your happiness..!
well good luck to you and I hope your wife won't stop you from what you want.. Smile

I gget a little compulsive when it comes to buying fish. I always feel tempted to buy more and more fish whenever I go to the aquarium shop. I haven't actually stopped buying fish, I recently bought 3 male fancy guppies to replace the 2 male baby fancy guppies that jumped out of the tank and died (I did find an excuse to buy more fish) but I have promised myself to stop buying more fish. So I found myself something else to do or to worry about and that is to concentrate on removing algae frm my tanks, changing 10-20% water everyday, hand feeding my fish etc. You see, I'm on holiday now, so I got a lot of time on my hands.
