well we jus got a tank and I'm guessing its over 100 gallons...anyways my dad went out and bought 4 bala sharks, 4 rainbow sharks, a lot of interestingly big goldfish and 2 pearl gouramis which are really shy. They all get along really well and tomorrow I'm gonna buy like one or two more fish since I didn't get to choose any fish.. I'm hoping to get guppies loaches and other colourful small fish. I'm not sure whether or not to buy a crayfish sinche there are gonna be some smaller fish in the tank. _________________ Alicia |

Did you cycle you new tank first before adding the live stock? If not I reckon most of your fish might end up dead in the next 2 week.
If you didn't cycle your tank then ask you father to read this article about fishless cycling please:
http://www.aquahobby.com/articles/e_fishless.php
Since you did stock your tank already than please try to do the Silent cycling, meaning try and get as many fast growing aquarium plants which will remove all the incoming and very dangerous (for fish) Ammonia.
http://www.aquahobby.com/articles/e_silent_cycling.php
Please tell you dad to read these articles first before buying more fish.
Please choose to become a Responsible fish-keeper rather than a fish-haver.
Please read this as well:

Fish are no toys! Please choose responsible fish-keeping!

So in other words, fish that could be living for 10-20 years in your aquariums are only living for a year or two. By our standards that is not considered successful fishkeeping, see?
I hope you will put in some effort now to read the articles that have been suggested and become familiar with the concepts of responsible fishkeeping... _________________

and also please find the correct size of your tank. because a tank like a 55 looks big and I've personaly had some of my friends tell people that I had a community tank over 100 gallons when it was only 55 gallons. also becareful alter in your fish keeping career because a loach like clowns need huge aquariums. I belive diademhill had one out grow a 180 gallon tank.
by the way gold fish are cool water fish. and the other fish you stated are tropical _________________ WHY doesn't my flying fish fly? |
