Maybe a bacterial infection had already got in.

Its a shame, however you should not have to worry about the tumour bursting and infecting the other fish.

That is a good picture for reference. The poor chap, looks like he was starting to get more aswell.

If you fished him out with a net, disinfect it using vinegar or a very dilute bleach then rinse in dechloriated water (use triple dose). Just to make sure.

Leave any additions at least 2 weeks and keep an eye on the rest of the fish.

Thats no problem, it is what we are here for.

Hope the others are OK, if you get a problem in the next few weeks, let me know, also add the post onto here so I remember what has already happened.

I use other forums aswell, would you mind if I used this photo on here and elsewhere for future reference and aiding in diagnosis?
