40 Breeder is a great size in my opinion. I love the looks= and the possiblities that you have with aquascaping.

The tank should be fine if you took good care of it and hasn't been banged around. Just fill it a little a time and check for leaks over several days. If you have no leaks, fill er up.

I would be cautious about using a reptile tank for fish, especially since I see the little red sticker that says do not fill with water, or something to that effect. I personally haven't ever used a reptile tank for an aquarium, but that little notice is enough to worry me about it.

Sweet. I've seen the 40 gallon breeder tank and I'm my opinion they're the best because they're nice for swimming space.

Reptile tanks are usually made with thinner glass than aquariums, hence the sticker saying do not fill with water.
They can usually hold 3" of water without undue pressure so why not try a swamp tank or a paludinarium?
Fluval internal filters will work horizontally.
