So I inherited a used Fluval 205 from my brother (as his wife got him a brand new tank/filter setup for xmas), and I can't use the hosing that he had attached, as I need it to be a little longer.

So I looked around online and in stores to find replacement hoses, and the only place I've found them they're about $20 PER hose. So that's $40 for some rubber tubing.

Can I just go to Home Depot and get 12mm ribbed hosing for like $.50/foot and shove them into the rubber adapters? Anyone tried this?
