I've just finished setting up my tank and sump, but the noise of the water going into the sump is really loud. Does anyone have ideas/techniques to dampen the noise?

Most of the sumps I have used in the past incorporate a removable drip plate, which disperses the water flow and lowers the sound...

you can also stack some live rock or coral rubble in the sump to disperse the water flow. Wink

Back in the early days of trickle towers, they used spinning PVC bars, which eventually gave way to the non-moving drip trays... some newer designs utilize durso standpipes or stockman silencers on various parts of the overflow plumbing.
