I edited your first post just to make sure I wasn't seeing things, but on all new threads you have options to turn your thread into a poll.

6, only moderaters can do that. the option isnt there for us normal people. I know I can't have polls on new threads.

Polls were allowed to general members in the very early days of this board, but it was quickly abused and misused by bored members who had nothing better to do than come up with random useless polls, so that feature became restricted to moderators. If you have a REALLY good reason to create a poll on the board, you may contact a moderator in private and propose that it be created...

I don't suppose you would consent to trying it out at least temporarily, letting members have polls? cause I have been to some messed up forums and I've never seen a problem with polls being abused.

What would be the point, though? I mean, polls are cool and all (I can say honestly that in my 14 years on the internet, I have never created a forum poll), but if there is something significant to be gained by starting a poll, what's wrong with just submitting a request to a moderator?

I agree, polls are something that should be used only in certain situations which are often few and far between. The members have gotten on this long fine enough without them, why change that.

I also think that would be a goof idea!

I thought polls would be helpful in such situations as "Is Eco-Complete or plant soil or just plain gravel the best option option for my tank" etc.
