It is an advertisement that displays periodically and is not part of the site.
Just ignore any ad that doesn't interest you or consider blocking ads if you need to.
Thanks in advance. _________________ "Just don't look in my fish room honey... it's just better for all of us. " |

Indeed it did... and it was interesting to see the flurry that something that is not even part of this site can become such a site 'issue'. _________________ "Just don't look in my fish room honey... it's just better for all of us. " |

Yes it did, and it's not too far down in the thread list, if you want to search for it. Why all this hub-bub is made over Christian singles dating ads is beyond me. They seem to annoy just about everyone, and I just can't figure out why.
They are just about the tamest ads going.
They are not pornographic.
They are not lascivious.
They do not display either men or women in suggestive poses, nor does the text of the ad suggest anything similar.
Why people even notice them is beyond me.
I, for one, have never seen one on this site. I must be just missing them.
More likely, my eye is drawn to the fish related material, and I just "block" the other things out.
Please, everyone, remember that ads pay for the site and the webmaster does not choose the ads, per se. The ads displayed on this site, are ads that all age groups can view, or ignore.

I just find it silly that that ad comes up here when it has nothing to do with fish, but oh well, you guys can't really control it anyway _________________ This sig is now severly outdated and will remain like this until I find something worthy to put here. Sorry. |

I think that's the problem. _________________

LOL perhaps!
OK, but seriously folks... Deb makes and excellent point and though I won't dwell on things that are not directly site related, I will simply make one call for sanity... tolerance must be a two way street... one should have freedom to say and do certain things within reason and this is the freedom we all know of and recognize.
Then there is the corresponding freedoms of having to listen or be on the receiving end of any action which I think might be the basis for some objections to certain topics.
BUT... any form of hypersensitivity about freedoms quickly becomes a form of disrespect.
Insistence of having the freedom to not hear or feel certain things is intolerant!!!
If an Ad pops up, really question whether it is unfair to ask you to tolerate that ad BEFORE you make an issue out of it.

One interesting thing about the Google Ads is that they're very tuned into what's already written on the page they're going to appear, ie, the more you talk about this issue on the site, the more likely it is that the ad will appear again here.
In fact, while I was reading this topic just now, the ad that appeared at the bottom was one advertising a Brazilian wax service. Now I wonder what the connection between that and a Christian Dating service could be...?
(there...by typing this I've just increased the chance that both ads will appear again ) _________________

So if I typed Nachos 50 times throughout the forum I might start seeing Nacho ads? COOL!
OK, new mission! Promote Nachos until MY ad appears!
Nachos Nachos yum yum! _________________ "Just don't look in my fish room honey... it's just better for all of us. " |
