I want to share this with you. Pedigree is doing a "Million Dog Mosaic" by uploading your dog to this project, a donation is made to help Shelter Dogs.

I feel very strongly about this, as my dog was a shelter dog, that was abandonded, abused, and scared. We saved her and it's been the happiest 7 years of our lives! Animals need us to help and this is a simple thing you can do to help just a little bit.

It takes 24-48 hours after uploading to see your dog added, but you will get a code so can keep checking to see when they are added. Please join me, and my Ridgeback Emma, help other dogs in shelters find homes, or at least be as comfortable as possible, while waiting.

PS: Mods if this belongs in the Ads & Links forum please move it. I was not sure where to post.

Awesome idea for whoever came up with it! I'm trying to snap a picture of my German shepherd right now!

Thanks for sharing that Heather. I have three Labrador Retrievers , one of which was a rescue from a very abusive situation. I am uploading photos as I write this.

Thanks so much for participating! Like I said it takes anywhere from 24-48 hours for the photos to be added so don't lose the upload code that is given to you.

I added Emma 2 days ago and she is there now. Very Happy

Our oldest dog Duke was found when he was about 4 months old (according to the vet). He's turning 11 now. We didn't adopt him from a shelter, but from the street. We fed him once and he wouldn't leave the porch and so my husband saw him and told me to keep him.

He looks like a German shepherd mix, but it's hard to tell. Anyway, he's a dog... And a good one at that! I love him and am sad that he's aging, but hope he is happy.

A dollar is a dollar.

Just curious as to whether this money goes to shelters worldwide, or just in America? I tried looking at the UK section but didn't see anything mentioned about the dog mosaic.

Hmm good question. I assumed it was world wide. I suppose you could call or email Pedigree to see what the details are.

I have a really good picture of my dog on my other camera that my dad practically keeps locked up, I'll see if I can get him to let me take that picture and put it on here. At least my pup can get a bit of accomplishment around the world before she goes. Sad
