This snail is fairly new in this hobby. Known as the snail-eating snail which grows to approx. 1,5cm, makes it suitable for small aquariums ran over by various small snails (I have seen it eating Ramshorn, Physa, Malaysian Trumpet).
Very attractive looking snail (egg layer) which originates from South East Asia.

Just out of curiosity, if added to a tank will it reproduce and prey on other snails until they're all wiped out (and in that case what happens next?) or can they be used to keep a snail population under control, for example when you do want some snails but not as many as you do? |

Amazing find there Dusko. I have never heard of a snail that eats other snails before. Lovely looking specimen as well. I would like to have one. _________________ Now all your loach are belong to us!

I ordered some for my shop, and soon will take some home for closer observation. I will try and make a better photo for the Gallery.
I am very happy this snail is available. They will really help Clown Loaches
Most of my customers have tanks between 54 - 80 liters and every single one would like to purchase a Clown Loach for snail control.

It will pray upon other snails to feed on them not to wipe them out
Of course this depends on how many Anentome helena are present in the tank.
I would say 3 snails per 10 galls will help controlling the snail population, without wiping them out.

Having more than one would create a problem with them over populating wouldn't it? Or would they pray on their young also to help keep the population in check? _________________ My Betta Site: overacoppermoon.com

Where are you ordering from? I only know of 1 place that is selling Sulawesi snails and for the most part they only have the tower snails. I want to get the snails like Celetaia persculpta but for the life of me I can't find them.
Awesome snail though, you are really lucky!
Edit to add... and easier name to call them is Assassin snail, this is a common name that is used and is far easier than The Snail Eating Snail. Though I do like the ring to The Snail Eating Snail. _________________

EXCELLENT point. We need to create the Gallery page and "promote" this snail with this very concept in mind... _________________

If they do succeed in wiping all the other snails out, then will they eat each other?
Really nice snail, and great alternative to loaches , but I don't want something that will start eating its own kind if the all the hitchhikers are gone. _________________ OM NOM NOM |

Keeno, I don't have answers for your questions until I get some Anentome helena for closer observation. I don't think they will eat each other though, but than again I might be wrong.
Get a few specimens, observe, and after write publicly, is the way to go.
