Here's what my Bolivian ram pair decided to do for Mother's Day! Laughing My mom was worried because the female wasn't coming out for food, and, upon further inspection, we found this:

A clutch of eggs! Very Happy

Mom staying vigilant.

And the proud papa. Smile

This is their first spawn, so no idea whether it'll be successful or not, but it's a lot of fun to see. ^_^

Come to think of it.... I haven't seen my Apistos much today, either. Surprised

How exciting Jun, it will be interesting to see how well they do for their first time! I wish to someday have that happen in my tank but I doubt it will if I am never able to find a female Rolling Eyes .

Congratulations Jun! I hope the fry make it through! My bolivians have spawned once so far but they got eaten right after becoming free-swimmers. Sad They are in a fast community tank with a lot of open space.

For mothers day my apisto eggs hatched, but that is all.

Picture updates right? Very Happy

Thanks everyone! I didn't get to see them much today because I was gone until 11:30pm after fishy's light's out, but they were still doing well this afternoon when I left. Smile I'll update tomorrow as well.

Daniel K. -- Thank you very much! I hope you have the chance to experience this as well. Smile Hope you can find a female, they're a little tricky to identify. Best of luck! ^^

Jacko -- Thanks. Sorry to hear about your little guys. I doubt these guys will make it since they're also in a community setting with livebearers, phantom tetras, and a mean sand tiger loach, but it's at least fun to see that the fish are feeling well enough to spawn. Smile Maybe I'll grab a few and grow them out myself, just for fun. ^^ And, of course, I'll be picspamming this thread to death if I get babies. x3

Ambell -- Thank you!! Very Happy

Wadenator -- Thanks a bunch! ^^ Like I said to Jacko, even if the babies don't make it, it's fun to watch. It's a good feeling, knowing that you're taking well-enough care of the fish for them to feel good enough to spawn. Very Happy Hopefully I'll have more success with some of my other species, as well. ^_^

Thats great Jun! Once mine began spawning, it has never ended. I was really surprised at how good of parents they are as well.

You might be surprised at how resilient they can be. I have recently been leaving the fry in the tank, and out of the last few clutches I still have a dozen or so that are about 1.5cm. They are hiding in the java moss and wisteria, and doing a pretty good job of staying alive. I also have angels in this tank, but they stopped trying to eat them at about 1cm.
