I have a backyard pond with 8 breeding goldfish. In the summer, I add a pair of convict cichlids and some africans, and have never had any problems whatsoever - the pond isnt heated, nor cooled, so temperature is not an issue. As for the aggression - the pond is big enough that the fish can get away from each other
Just my 2 cents - the above has worked for 2 years now, with africans ranging from and 8" bumblebee to baby orange zebras that were born in the pond, and all have thrived, never to the goldfish's expense |

| I used to keep goldfish with tropicals when I was small since I didn't know any better. I had the goldfish with plecos, different types of tetras, cories, etc. There were never any issues with aggression. The tropicals died off after a while though, cause I didn't have a heater. |
