"Worthington Banzana confronts the evil without."

A brave Betta splendens takes on the jack o' lantern of evil.

I don't know if this is a magic moment or a weird moment.
I took this photo just before I moved my betta, Worthington Banzana, from this bowl to his new tank. My OLYMPUS D-630 point and shoot camera failed to flash, as usual, which accounts for the strange reddish color. The overhead room lighting, two bathroom vanity lamps, reflected oddly in the glass and produced the strange evil face. Worthington flared at the right moment, and this dramatic shot was created.
Very Happy

Deborah

The look out

Just after I picked eggs and some plants out of the tank... They were watching me closely. Laughing

Submissions closed! We have 16 interesting moments for this round! Let's move on to the 1 week voting phase. All board members can vote, but remember...to make a valid vote you must choose your 3 favorite candidates from the selection below and clearly list them in order of preference!

Although the selection criteria are ultimately personal, we hope that each voter will take into consideration the 3 basic elements of good photography:
adequacy to the proposed theme, attentive composition and technical quality.

We also encourage everyone to add comments justifying your choices, and including praises or constructive criticism to those that weren't chosen.

Participants cannot vote for their own photo, but are expected to vote and add comments for the "other" good photos! All in the name of friendship and fun!

Voting Deadline: April 9th (Wednesday)

#01. Heather R - "Where were you last night?!"

#02. Frog - "A carp

First: 8 ) Jacko - I laughed so hard at the title to this picture that I couldn't not choose it first. Laughing Nice picture, too. Wink

Second: 11) Deb Claro - I love the shadows and light in this photo! Reminds me of something out of a sci fi novel!

Third: 14) Heather - This one fits the topic so perfectly. The photo is a bit dark, but the subject matter makes up for it. I love how the little guys are all focused on the shrimp pellet bottle! Priceless!

Honorable mentions:
Marcos' snail photo was also very good. I love how the little snails are cleaning the big snail!

Additionally, BBD's betta photo is great! I would have preferred if it would've been cropped to omit the sides of the glass, however.

Heather's loach pic is wonderful. It totally looks like one loach is screaming at the other! For some reason, the gravel colors were a bit distracting to me, though.

Geez... I guess I loved them all!!! Very Happy

EDITED: To omit an extra word that somehow ended up in there.
