March's theme is one of my all-time favorites, and the winning photos will eventually become part of the permanent section of the site with the same name...
Otocinclus surffistis, the Surfer Oto - Themepic by Javoski
Magic Moments!
Best photos capturing fish or invertebrates in an unusual/unexpected/curious situation!
Tip: giving a Title and Description to your photo makes it more interesting!
Reminder: The photo must be yours, but the photographed subject doesn't need to be.
Deadline for entries: March 31st. (Monday)
Be sure to read the 2008 Monthly Photo Contest Rules carefully before posting your photo! By posting here you are automatically agreeing to them.
On with the contest...good luck! _________________

I'll go first I suppose. I happened to get this photo when taking other photos of my tank. I cracked up when I saw it, as it looked like "Doppler" my common spotted weather loach was screaming at the golden. He was really just sucking in water to clear the sand out of his gills after a sifting frenzy.
"Where were you last night?!"

"Out of place, but comfy!"
I think it is magical how fish can adapt as humans do when placed in situations out of the normal. As like humans this guy has found the safety and home in an aquarium he generally would not call home in the wild.
This oscellaris has called this patch of palys home for over four months now, and defends it as he would an anemone.

"One algae tablet, two straws, please!"
It's nice to see that inter-species dating can work. Let's just hope they never get past third base. I don't know that I want to see what a plecocinclus looks like! -small _________________ The answer we seek is in our hearts.

"Who Cleans the Cleaner?"
Apple snail eats algae off the wafer, tadpole snails eat algae off the Apple...
Remember the Tip in the opening post: try to give your photo a title and brief description...you'll get more votes _________________
