Hi I'm a new member to this site, I got one of my goldfish 6 years ago from a friend as a birthday surprise, since then I've moved into a bigger tank but they are getting a bit large for the tank? Are they meant to be kept in aquariums or should I give him away? My tank is a 70 litre but I have quite a few other fish in there too.

- 2 pearl danios
- 3 zebra danios
- 7 white cloud minnows
- 2 goldfish
- 1 shubunkin
I'm just wondering if I have overstocked my tank!

I'll try and get some pics up soon!

Advice and suggestions welcome! Very Happy - Thanks!

70 litres is just about adequate for one goldfish but twice that size is better and this is for just one goldfish.
Yes you have overstocked your tank.

If you know someone with a suitable pond you could donate the goldies there once spring arrives and the water warms up.
70L is about the minimum I'd suggest for danios as they require a lot of swimming space for their size.
You have two different species of danio which don't really shoal together so you should have a minimum of 5 or 6 of each although zebras and leopard and their gold varieties can be mixed. Pearl danios are not as cold tolerant as the zebras and minnows.
Ten danios & 7 white clouds is a very fully stocked 70L tank.

Oh no! It's good that we have a friend/neighbour that has a pond nearby, perhaps we can donate the goldfish to him,

Thanks for the advice!
