Here's one. This tank has been up for 1 1/2 years. The brown carpet anemone was grown from the size of a dime.
Here's another, coffee n marine life to wake to.

That's so awesome I would love to have something like that on my desk, but I don't really have the funds or experience to set up a nano reef yet.

Its our kitchen counter. It was anniversary present for wife last year. 4th. Year n half before that on our 2 1/2 year anniversary I bought the 30G setup for our bedroom. That was the one we dumped all the money into setting up as high light, CO2 injected, dry fert, heavily planted tank. Then we moved all the plant gear up into a 45G I got a sweet deal on. That freed up the 30G for large reef. Was actually pricing rock cheap from because today. $4.59 a pound! _________________

No, we haven't built it yet. We are moving again next week, (we got job as superintendent for company we were renting from), so we plan to build early march. Plan is for 30G reef with 30 pounds of rock, plus likely 50 - 60 pounds or more of Fiji pink life sand. May go with combo of finer sand and aragonite.
Prices here if you are in Canada are amazing.... www.jlaquatics.com
Our big problem is most American supplier don't send to Canada.
We will set up early March, then in early April order the cleaner crew and likely a skimmer from them too. Should be able to move some the anemones over then and add a few fish. Maybe by fall look into a few pieces of corral.
About once a year we do a major overhaul on one of our tank or set up something completely new. _________________

30 - Blue Legged Hermits
5 - Red Scarlet Hermit
10 - Astrea Snails
10 - Margarita Snails
10 - Cerith Snails
$99
Sweet eh
Hamilton Technology 36" VHO Fluorescent Retrofit Kit - 2-Bulb, 2 x 95W
$166.95 Cdn
Thats awesome, that would be 6.3 WPG over 30g, plenty enough for anemones, mushrooms, polyps and easy keep soft corals.
I expect initial order of rock, substrate, plus light to cost only $460 tax in Cdn. Thats really good since localy I could only rock n sand for that. To be able to get 190 watts of light in that price is big deal.
I'll wait a month or more then order cleaner crew. huge cleaner crew for price. _________________
