I just started a planted tank after having the 20gallon set up for 6+ months with plastic plants. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Ignore the background.
Substrate: 1.5inch ECO substrate, 2.5 - 3inch gravel from tank previously
Lighting: Coralife T5 15watt x 4
CO2: Hagen CO2 canister
Filter: Aqua Tech
Flora: [I]Shinnersia Rivularis
Java Fern
Crypt
Anubias Barteri var. nana
Hygrophila
Cambomba (right corner)

Good start! I like the driftwood!
The plant in the right corner I'm pretty sure it's cabomba, but don't quote me.
It's looking good how do you plan on stocking it?
Do you use ferts? _________________ 14 Gallon Salt Water Bio-Cube:) (Reef)

Lots of potential!
You need something in the front, for sure. That could be more anubias or java fern, though I would lean more toward the anubias. Do you use laterite or any sort of planting substrate? Or is it just the gravel?
Java moss will give your driftwood more character.

thanks! I am using Eco Complete Substrate and I have just set up the tank, it was full of plastic ones for quite some time, I have ferts when should I use them though right away?
Stocking:
Otos
Cardinals, I have ten that I've had for 5 months
Harlequin maybe
furcatu rainbows
Anything that would look decent
My LFS has no Java moss, they have some coming in the second week of January so I will get it then.
I am going to get more plants tonight, any suggestions? _________________ Austin V

I went to my LFS and got 1 oto and 6 amano shrimp (algae eating). My CO2 is working with 3 or 4 bubbles every 10 seconds roughly and I bought more plants:
Flora: Samolus Valerandi
Hygro Siamensis and Rosanervig
Glossostigma
Fauna: 1 Oto, 6 amano shrimp

It's starting to look really good. A few more short plants up front would be wonderful. _________________ --Kathy-- |

| Awesome tank. The driftwood and plants seem to stand out so well with the background. |

That tank is looking really nice, I like the amano and oto pics. I also love how you have Cabomba in the background and in the tank itself. |
