These are my two tanks. I'm presently cycling the 45 gallon. I plan on getting 8-10 Neovesspicula depressifrons for the 45 gallon, and 2 more Cardinals and a pair of Apistogramma trifasiata for the 10 gallon.

10 gallon
Fauna: 5 Cardinal Tetras
Flora: Amazon Sword and Brazilian Micro Sword
pH: ~7.4
Comments: I plan on breeding the dwarf cichlids in the near future.

45 gallon
Fauna: Nothing yet
Flora: Nothing
Specific Gravity: 1.10-1.15

I really like the 10 gallon setup. I'm setting up a 20 gallon South American tank too. It's going to be for 3 Cockatoo Apistos along with some Cories and Cardinal Tetras. It should be nice. I like the look of your 10 gallon though. Are you planning on adding anything besides the Cardinals?

Yes... it says in the original post that I'm getting a pair of Apistogramma trifasiata and more cardinals.

I really like Apistogramma trifasiata, if I ever were to get ciclids, those would be what I want. I don't know why, I like them so much, I guess its just because they don't look like every other ciclid out there. All the colorful ones remind me of platies. I just like thme....... Anyways, awesome tank, and they both look great.

I'm so excited to see how this goes. I really love A. trifasiata as well, although I prefer A. cacatuoides simply because I like red over blue. Laughing Apistos in general are just cool, though. :3 Can't wait to see how this progresses. You going to add any more plants to the 10 gallon? Guess it seems just a bit bare to me... Your tank, though. ^^'

Leaf Waspfish are awesome, btw. If I ever venture into brackish they'll be one of the first species I'll look into. I'll be very interested to see how this works out. Wink

Best of luck!

I like your tanks, A. trifasiata look great. I wish I could get some but in Australia they are next to impossible to get, at least where I am anyway. I want to get one or two pairs of apistos for my 45 gal south american tank. The only ones I can get are german, bolivian rams and A. Borelli, A. Juruensus. They are so expensive too Confused
Wish I could something like this:

Good luck with the breeding anyway. Wink

I might add more plants this Christmas when I get my apistos.

I'm gonna try to breed my Leaf Waspfish, I think it might have something to do with changing from brackish to marine then back to brackish (kind of like salmon). It would be sweet to be one of the first people to breed them.

I LOVE trifascita! You probably like them cause the are colorful and have long fins like bettas.

Check out this apisto website. I don't know if they ship international though.
