Well today is my son's 5th birthday, he wanted to go to the fish store, as it is his favorite place.

So for his birthday, I got myself three Hillstream Loaches (lol). I only managed to catch two of them with photos. I can't find the third one, I saw him earlier, and now it seems he is in hiding.

Sorry for the terrible quality, these guys are FAST! Hard to get them in a good photo.

Nice b-day present for your "son" Laughing I would love to see more pics.

They are this fish: http://www.aquahobby.com/gallery/e_hillstream.php

Kind of odd, yet so cute. I could not resist them. If they even stay still I'll get more photos up. I took about 20 photos, and those were the only ones that were not a complete blur.

{EDIT} Here is one more photo that is not too terrible...

Haha! I am glad to see you are another mom, who gets presents for their kid's birthdays, joitoy!

He did tell me he liked the fish, said they looked like tiny "Mr. Ray" fish. Laughing

Great pics! I have always been intrigued by hillstream loaches, but I have never had the proper set up for them. I am thinking about setting up a cold water tank with them in a spare 35 gallon. What are you keeping with them? I am thinking about a large school of white clouds and a small group of hillstreams.

To look at, hillstreams are my absolute favourite loaches. :) I've never had them, but I watched a tank of them at once of my LFSs and just fell in love with them. Great pictures! :D

I have them in my 60G cold water tank, with two dojos and a goldfish (who will eventually move to pond). I have a strong stream current set up for them. I also have lots of rocks, and driftwood for them to grab on to.

I think they would do well with a shoal of white clouds.
