#1 - The black and white composition of this photo is lovely. It's truly a photo that not only fits the theme well, but is "professional" quality.

#24 - Dusko managed to capture a clear, crisp low light photo. This fish looks to me as if he is emerging from the darkness. Well done!

#29 - I love the way the snail shells are highlighted by the lighting. They look so delicate.

Lovely photos everyone, it was hard to choose just three. Very Happy

17 lindak... I love the rays of light in this photo
1 shaun64326...beautiful black and white; I love these kind of pictures
18 tolkien... the detail and contrast in this photo is incredible. Fits the theme very well, too.

I also loved invertmaniac and dusko's pics.
There were also a few very nice pictures that looked to me like they got oversaturated with colour in photoshop... Confused
All the pictures were lovely.

#29. Magnus the complementary colors are just striking and the composition is great.

#12. Michael L. I like the wood-veins they give a special curve to this composition. And the RED-GREEN is just working fine for me.

#34. Psyfalcon Nice science fiction photo...

Nice one everyone, good luck.

Kind regards, Dusko.

1st: #23 conaquavict -- The highlighted danio and the silhouetted danio circling each other. Amazing! Just a beautiful photo. I can't imagine the patience and/or luck it took.

2nd: #34 Psyfalcon -- Simple shapes in nothing but light and shadow. I love how sharp the image is.

3rd: #20 Marcos Avila -- This is such a professional looking shot with the theme reflected in every part of it. The wood, the snail, and even the background each have a very contrasted light half and dark half.

Honorable Mentions: #10 celticwraith -- I so wanted to give this one points, too. It seems like a photo taken from the bottom of a lake with the sun sparkling on top and dissipating over the dark, comfortable depths. It makes me happy looking at it. #17 lindak -- This oto scene has such a good dark to light feel to it. The 'sunbeam' effect is gorgeous.

#01. shaun64326- Very nicely fits in with the theme!

#05. munkee- I love how the shark in the back is lurking in the dark while the turtle is emerging into the light.

#13. aberdufi- This pic really makes the shrimp look like their name-sake! Very nice!

And for all those whom I did not choose, very nice photos!

I wish all you luck in the next contest!(Even if you win this one or not!)

Oh, and I think that this can be switched to "VOTING" now. Wink

1.) # 17 Lindak - Well, here's a little fish enjoying himself! He reminds me of a lizard seeking the sun, but ready to retreat into the shadows at any moment.

2.) # 27 Darter02 - Darter has captured the harsh, bright light, and the soothing shadows under the wood, from the pleco's point of view!

3.) #24 Dusko - A bold statement divided just about in half, diagonally.
Well done, as usual.

Honorable mention: The shadow of the stool in AndyLH88's photo is riveting.
