chalk rocks

But anyhow I think it's more of a chemistry question than anything.

I found a couple white rocks in the creek a few days ago and I wanted to put them in my saltwater tank. Now that I look at the rocks more closely, I think they're chalk... rocks. They're very lightweight and sound like chalk. Is that not good for an aquarium?

Under normal circumstanses you would not put chalk or limestone in freshwater tank as they will alter the pH, I am sure they would also do this in a marine tank, but for all I know this could be a good thing Wink

I would post over in the marine section.
