1) #10 -- That poor fish's expression is so priceless! It's an exaggerated 'Uh oh' moment like in a cartoon, with the other fish blurring around at high speed like sharks.

2) #18 -- I never would have believed clownfish could be scary. When I first saw the picture I honestly thought, "Hey, did he photoshop that mad eye in there?!"

3) #19 -- I giggled when I saw this one because the first thing through my mind was that he was playing King of the Mountain.

Honorable Mentions:

#5 Piggy platies! This would have been in my top three but, for me, didn't have as much expressiveness as the ones I chose.
#1 Good timing on this picture. It wasn't a top three for me because the plec is too much in shadow and the gourami drowns him out.
#17 This would have been great if you'd caught him flaring!

1-#10
2-#5
3-#1

The 3 pictures I chose may not be photographically the best pictures, but I my opinion they best represented the theme. If I looked in a calender and saw that theme with one of those pictures under it, it would make sense.
underOATH87 the first picture you posted I would have voted it as #2.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL This was a hard one

#4 clearly defending something, not sure what but the message is clear

#15 Also a very clear defensive posture

#7 Keeper of the eggs, I like this shot but wish it were just a little clearer.

Excellent theme, it only took me a solid week and a hundred shots to capture my entry. They keep getting harder and harder and I like it.

My input:
1. 07
2. 01
3. 10

Its kinda easy to make a picture of a fish in a certain spot and then say "he is garding his spot" or "the fish is protecting his cave". Thats why I voted for those in which it's really clear that the fish is garding or protecting something that belongs to it.
A fish resting under a piece of bogwood could be occasional and means nothing in terms of "its mine"...
