Hello patchy689. Its good to see a fellow brit on here as well, there don't seemto be that many of us!!!

As for your question.....I will ask the questions that you will get asked by everyone else before they canreally help you out. Although they are all a very helpful bunch.

What size is you tank? What sort of set-up do you have (filter etc)? Also you said 6 Gupppies and Neons does that mean you have 6 of each?

if you can answer these people will find it a lot easier to help you out with your question. Good luck with the fish keeping!!

I've got a juwel rio 125, its 81x53x36 it holds about 125L maybe more thats about 33G the reason I'm thinking of getting some blue gourami is because I'm looking at getting some fish wich stays around the middle of the tank.

Thanks.

hi again!! just been reading up on blue gourami and most people say there not very peaceful so I think if I do go for a gourami it will be the dwarf instead of the blue do you think that is wise.

Thanks

I have 2 Dwarf Guoramis in my 10G tank and they seem to get along just fine Very Happy and they do look really good in the tank. There is a little bit of aggression between them but as yet there has been no damage to either, they just seem to be chasing each other from there patch. They have each claimed one of the two larger fake plants I have as theirs. At other times they just swim around together.

On the positive side they don't tend to bother about any of the Neons or the Otos that I have. In your 33G tank I would say you have plenty of space for 2 Dwarf Guoramis if you wanted, although one on its own would add a nice bit of colour to the tank.

They are very good at hiding!!!!! Laughing Laughing

They seem to be helping to get my Brown Algae issue under control. I have heard that they are quite fragile though and that they seem to inexplicably die. I have to say that so far about a month after introducing them they are both doing fine and I only bought 2. So thats a 100% record.

They are one of my favourites though as they are fun to try and find!!!

Hey, I support the dwarf gourami thing...buuut if you have real plants bec causious because gouramis like making bubble nests and they like making them with stuff like little leaves. I had a bad experience with them once Sad but they are wonderful fish!
