Okay, this is my final aquascape on this tank. The only thing that will change is the java fern growing and the rangeri sword growing more leaves and possibly a sandbox for the corys.
Whole tank:

Here is the dark side with the java fern:

Here is the 10 Gallon with the 1 Gallon beside it:

Here is my new betta hanging out in the 1 gallon:

Thanks! The plant in the middle is actually my attempt at hiding the filter tube. Those are fake ones but my corys seem to appreciate the extra hiding places they create behind the rocks. The aquascape kind of breaks all the "aesthetically (sp?) pleasing" rules but my fish don't seem to mind Wink .

Rules in anything artistic are just guidelines, and loose ones at that! The more of them you break and still have something beautiful, the more of an artist you are! And I like your tanks. How are you liking the live plants? I'm so tempted....

I have had many failures so far with the live plants because of my substrate, just plain aquarium gravel. But....
I am having great success so far with the Rangeri Sword, the plant on the far right. I think I've gotten lucky with that one. The java fern is starting to sprout "daughter" plants as well. In the 1 gallon all I have is some water wisteria and that seems to grow anywhere.
Start with the java fern if you want to try plants. It doesn't need high light, you don't plant it in the substrate, you just tie it to a decoration until it attaches itself, and it doesn't need a lot of fertilizers.
Try it!

......I DARE YOU!...... Twisted Evil
