Here are some pics of the 80 gallon cichlid tank we just set up. We stepped our cichlids up from a 29 gallon.

Wow, that's really cool. Arn't you scared that your rocks might tip over and destroy your tank. I love setups like that, and would be really cool to do someday. But I would be so afraid of something going wrong, plus I live right next to train tracks and I'm also afraid the vibrations would tip the rocks.

I took great care to ensure that the rocks were stable. I have some of that egg crate light cover stuff on the bottom and the base rocks are directly on top of that, then I put the sand in.
As I piled up the rocks I would shake them to make sure they didn't move, if they did I adjusted the rock until it didn't move any more, If I couldn't get a rock stable I wouldn't use it.

It would definitely suck if the rocks fell, and barring any earthquakes, I made sure that wouldn't happen.

It was fun to do.

No its one of those skulls you get from a pet store. Although one of the rocks I got out of the river bed has a fossil in it.

I think I'll have to post a picture of that when I get a chance.

EDIT: I added the fossil picture the fossil is in the whiteish rock at the bottom above the ^. It's the dark oval.

OHmy, I didn't even notice the skull, that's amazing, I've never seen that in a tank.

The skull adds a cool effect. Thats a very well put togather tank and a good fish selection! How agressive does your kennyi act twords the other fish, or does he have enough hiding spaces to be satisfied?
