I have had this set up for a few months now to hold me over until I can get something nice and big.

For filtration I use an Aqua Clear 50 and a Cascade canister filter.

It is currently stocked with
2 Spotted Climbing Perch
1 Ghost Knife Fish (not mine but a friends who needed a temporary home)
1 Uknown Loach (It is slipping my mind right now, can someone help me out...you can see it in one of the pics.

The Perch are great and strong fish who have survived a tank disaster than killed everything else. They got along great until the bigger one finally decided he hated anything that looked like himself. Every now and then he will chase the smaller one around a bit, but has not gone beyond that yet.

Looks kind of like a Bengal Loach Botia dario but it's hard to tell in the picture.

Nice setup!! Very Happy

I did not have time to set up a tripod to take some better pics, so I used the flash and one somewhat blurry non-flash pic.

UPDATE

I think they had the loach labled as an Angelicus Botia, but I seem to remember that not being correct...

EDIT

nevermind, I googled it and figured it out.
