Sorry to hear about your catastrophic loss! Heaters can certainly be a bugger...my Elite 50W heater can almost NEVER hold the water temp at 77F...I think it may have to do with the light bulbs heating the water as they're on all day.

Yeah I leave my light on a lot so my plants can grow better.

And thanks for the comment about my pic avatar haha. Yeah, I took some pics of my dwarf hourami and my tank on a digital camera, but I can't find the cord that connects it to the computer. I might try it on my picture phone.

Yeah Bronze cories are short and stubby, but they look cute, Very Happy

So then just a gourami and some cories?

Yes, you'll be fully stocked with that bioload. The cories really will fill up the tank. They're very active. Very Happy

They really are, Joey! I know they're supposed to be bottom dwellers, but mine spend an awful lot of time swimming around the whole tank. I only have 4 of them in a 35G and they use every bit of that space. Especially when they get adult sized yours are definitely going to be a tankful.

Okay so then how much cories should I add to my tank? Like 3-4?

That your extra money will go to fish, etc instead of pot. Cool

Cathy
I'll go check out the Petsmart site but my guess is that everything will be so overpriced. I went to one of the better lfs's the other day to pick up the heater I was telling you about. They wanted - get this - $35.99. The same great heater is at the link above for $14.99...

Be back later with my report, I have to get to work now...

LOL, BEST THING I'VE EVER HEARD IN CMOMPARISON WITH FISH!!!

At my LFS I picked up a digital Thermometer. Besides the fact that its digital and not one of those color stickers, it has two alarms that you can set to go off at different temperatures. May be handy to catch those heaters that go haywire, heres a links to the one I bought.

I think I got mine for a LOT cheaper than that site is selling, maybe $10 tops. Good luck with the restock!

Whoa, I've never seen a digital thermometer like that one. I definitely need to check my LFS, but the only one my parents go to is the local Petsmart. I hope they have one. I think I'm going tomorrow, and I plan to restock my empty tank

Sorry to have been scarce, busy day! I think 3 bronze cories and a dwarf gourami would be a great tank, Joey. Hope you find that cord soon so we can see your fish. Smile

A thermometer with alarma -- what a great idea! Would be nice if it adjusted the temperature accordingly too. Like the house thermostat does. Hey, and while it was at it, it could test your water like the one on Nemo. And add a little water connection to the household plumbing with a Prime injector so it could do your water changes for you... Man, I need to get to inventing. Wink Wow, it's nearly 4am. No wonder I'm loopy.
