I recently lost all my fish in my 10 gallon. At first I thought it could be Ich, but I really couldn't see any "salt crystals."

Incase it's gill flukes (I have a suspicion*), can anyone suggest how long I should keep the tank empty to ensure they die out without hosts?

I understand their lifecycle goes faster with higher temps. So just in case it was Ich, I've cranked the temp up to 89.5.

PS: I read the common dog/cat dewormer, Droncit kills flukes instantly and doesn't harm fish. The site stated it should be used between 2 and 3 mg/L - so one 23mg cat tablet per 10 gallons sounds good. Has anyone else heard of this or tried it.

Thanks

* I'm not sure, but I think this is either a harmless rotifer or maybe a fluke larva I found in my aquarium. The scale bar is 50 micrometers.

Edit: It's a rotifer, so nevermind.
