Has anyone used the product algone to get rid of green water? I'm just wondering as I am having the worst green water situation ever. Heres the website:

Please don't use this type of product. They are called flocculants, these bind the very tiny single celled algae together so they are large enough to get caught in the filter. They can also clog up fishes gills.

They also don't really work, they will often clean the water up as if by magic for a day or so, but unless you have dealt with the underlying cause, and just a few algae are left, you will be back at square one in days.

The sure fire way to deal with green water is to use a UV filter.

You can try all the other ways, but it can often be a frustrating excersie, and a couple of months later, it clears by itself (But don't hold your breath).
