OK so this post could go under many different threads but I decided to put it here....

I got 3 Yo-Yo loaches to go in my 55 gal planted tank yesterday. I know they are escape artists so I made sure to cover all the holes in my hoods and what not.

It started off yesterday where the loaches would sneak behind my background and get trapped in between the glass and the plastic paper background.. so a trip to the LFS to get a new background and I put the background on the outside and removed the one on the inside....problem 1 solved...

Problem 2 is that last night the more active yo-yo decided it would be a good idea to pull a jail break up the filter....he would swim up to the outtake part of my emperor 400 and try to jump up into the filter...

I heard the sloshing around and went over to investigate and he looked like he was stuck, but I couldn't tell...so in my effort to prevent my fish from getting hurt I took off the cover to the filter and that's when he did a belly flop into it....

So I shut it off and after a half an hour of patient waiting to net him I finally got him back in the main tank...

So the question of the day is...do you think the loach can jump up the filter with the cover on? I don't think there is enough room and I think I aided his escape last night by taking it off...

I'm open to suggestions on this one....

I think he probably could jump into the filter. I've heard of fish doing that before! but I'm really sorry I have no idea what you could do about it!
