this is definitely a cottony growth, which seems to be sticking to one place on the poor guy. he's currently in a 20g long with another african leaf and a blue ram, and 3 ottos. we've bought them a larger home, and I hope to move them soon, but I don't want to move him with his fungus.

I've checked their water params many times to make sure nothing is off and their ammonia is 0, their nitrites and nitrates are at 0 and 5ppm, their pH is 6.7 (which is constant). I've been using PemaFix (the fungal cousin of MelaFix) but it doesn't seem to be helping the little guy. this aquarium has been recycled and the fungus did appear once before, but was knocked out pretty quickly by maracyn, but I don't want to over medicate.

Any suggestions? I do have MarOxy if need be, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with metronidazole or nitrofurazone powders. I'm aware that the nitrofurazone can mess up their aquarium's balance pretty badly, but I want to make sure this guy is well enough to move into his new digs.

should I move everyone else into their newly cycled aquarium and let him stay in the 20L for a while?
