Well I have finally made up my mind about what type of fish I want to keep, and the tank is nearly cycled!!
Hubby got me a 130g instead of the 90g, and I decided to go with mbuna fish.
Here is my list, it still needs work but that is why I am here....
Now I know that not all of these will work for various reasons, but it is a start
Cynotilapia afra
Labidochromis caeruleus
Labidochromis sp. "Perlmutt"
Labeotropheus fuelleborni
Labeotropheus trewavasae
Melanochromis joanjohnsonae
Metriaclima sp. "Black Dorsal Heteropictus"
Metriaclima estherae
Metriaclima callainos
Pseudotropheus saulosi
Pseudotropheus polit
Pseudotropheus socolofi
I need help narrowing it down, as well as how many of each??
Thanks,
Chantell |

Awww.. I'm sad. I prefer the American cichlids. lol
I think the only africans I like are Frontosa... and maybe some of the smaller africans, like Pearly Ocellatus and Ocellated Lamprologus.
Good luck with it though. _________________ "Express Yourself Don't Repress Yourself" - Madonna |

Chantell, it is far better to select fish from different genus to avoid hybridization. Your mbuna will breed with basic care, and you will need to find homes for the fry. Other buyers will want pure species, or at least know what they are buying instead of hybrids with unknown care or compatability.
36 fish will allow some room for fry to perhaps survive... are you cycling the tank with ammonia, or with fish and seeding it from another tank? (2 easiest and safest ways to prepare the tank for fish)
