when getting 3-5 fish of the same species what are good combinations of males and females are good to get if I want them to have babies.

I would say your best chance is with Platies, Mollies, or Guppies, any livebearer since they love to breed, good luck on breeding them Wink

depends on the type of fish you are talking about. If you are thinking of livebearers then you want at least 2 females per male. That spreads the males attention around so he doesn't stress out the females too much be constantly trying to mate with them.
