This is a plant I found growing in my 10 gallon tank. It was tangled in one of my plastic plants right under where the water flows out of the filter. What do you think it is? The only other plants in that tank are an anubias nana a couple of java ferns and of course some algae but not much.

I think it looks like java moss cause it doesn't have any roots. It wasnt growing anywhere near the ground actually.





Heres a grown mystery snail for comparison...
(that snail doesn't live in there I just put him in there for awhile b/c he had a little mishap having to do with the filter, long story)

Sure looks like Java Moss to me. Seems to be stringier than usual, mine branches a lot more, but that may be lighting or water conditions.

Maybe it came in really small on one of your other plants, and now has grown big enough for you to see it.

Yeah, even a tiny little part can grow into a mattress if it has light and nutrients. Remember, with no real roots, it can grow in all directions at once.
