Just so you know, Gill wasnt an angelfish, he was a Moorish idol. |
I guess this part is partially wrong, but mostly unrealistic. moorish idols have an absolutely dismal survival record in aquariums, although some people have kept them succesfully in HUGE tanks with tons of algae for them to eat. in the dentist's tank, I have to wonder how long he's been there. but I guess it does explain why gill wants to escape so badly. _________________ New to fishkeeping? Not to derail the thread, Fiffy, but Apocalypto is being railed because of historical innaccuracies. _________________ Nova's Razor: The stupidest explanation is probably the correct one. |

I loved the movie...my son loved the movie and it was the catalyst for getting me into the hobby...one year of freshwater before I did my first saltwater tank...by the time I got into it my son had lost interest but my fascination only grows and my checkbook balance diminishes. No it isn't an accurate depiction but it was done very tastefully and was a great story. At 43 I own the movie and still watch it from time to time. I wish someone would find a way to backcharge Pixar for the more than 10k I have in this tank since my son isn't interested in it and their movie caused him to want Nemo. _________________ Out on the road today...I saw a DeadHead sticker on a Cadillac...

-shudders- Toy Story freaked me out... since then I always thought my toys were alive. But anyways, personally, does it really matter that they did a few things wrong with the tank in the dentist's office... it's just a movie, a fictional story for people to watch. It's not like a kid is sitting there saying "Hey! I want to put an angelfish and a puffer in a 5g tank together!" (but I could be wrong... ) Like everyone else said, it was mostly just poor judgments on clown fish. _________________ "color is the keyboard, the eyes are the hammer, the soul is the piano with the strings" - - wassily kandinsky |

I think all this debate is useless........ I say we shoud debate wether war movies make us start wars..... its just a movie, I enjoyed it. The move was not ment to be correct, fish don't hang out like that in the wild, they don't ride rays, you don't have small sw tanks. _________________ My tanks

Cute movie, we love the seagulls.
We use lots of sayings from the movie in everyday life around our house and we all know exactly what each other is talking about.
'Fish are friends, not food'
'Mine, Mine, Mine'
