Hey guys
I have a 5 gallon tank already cycled with a small submersible filter and a heater. The problem is I have no idea what I want to put in it. I think a betta could be cool but I've never ever had success with them. If I did get a betta tho could I put anything else in the tank with it. The last thing I want to do is over stock it. Thanks for all your advice.

well you could do...

1 betta and some shrimp or snails

or

3 guppies(all same gender) and some shrimp or snails

or

just shrimp or/and snails

Those are some suggestions, but personally, I like the first one, with snails.

well, with bettas, I feed them dried foods, like the betta worms by nutrafin, and a pea every so often. and 24-26 degrees C. But thats how I've gotten my bettas to survive.

aw, from what I can see in the pic he looks happy Smile I've been thinking about possibly getting a betta as well... keep posting on how he's doing! As for names, try for maybe favorite actors or cartoon characters or something... whatever fits his personality.

aww! Cute!!

I had mine in a 1 gallon....then a 5 gallon...then a 10 gallon...and now he is in a 29 gallon all by himself!!! LOL

I like Bettas, rather easy to care for and my daughtertalks to him all the time and reads to him and stuff.

We feed him the betta gold stuff...and bloodworms every so often.

Good luck with the little guy!!!

I want a crown tail for my 10 gallon...LOL...

Very nice CT. Love the green with red fins, nice pick. ^_~ I love naming crowntails Romanesue names like Octavian or Severus, etc., simply because they're very powerful names and the CTs reflect that in their GRRness, lol. :)

I had a gorgeous black and red orchid butterfly male that was sooo aggressive I could hardly put anything in his tank because he would attack it. I ended up naming him Cassius after the Roman general, because he was quite the disturber of the peace (And would definitely conspire against an emperor if he had had the chance, haha)! n_n

Good luck with him! :D I personally recommend just keeping him by himself, but if you do get something to go in there with him, snails would probably be the best bet because of CTs naturally more aggressive tendencies.
