OK simple question , that I don't konw the answer too
But can you put 1 male betta
with guppies lyk I was gonna just have like 3 males 6 females in an 80L tank and its deep people not long.
Or does that get into the risk of tail nipping, or are the guppies to energetic for the betta?!?!
Going to put in plants...which bring me on to another simple question to most..
When you put live plants in your tank, they breath carbon dioxide, correct?
So to oxyginate the water do you buy a speacial tablet to relase oxygen?
Or am I completely off the mark
thanks |

Don't mix bettas and fancy guppies. Those long, flowing guppytails are going to get nipped. If you mean plain guppies with short tails, that's probably okay.
As for the plants, they do need CO2, which people inject with tanks or DIY systems, and they also use nitrates, which will be supplied by your fish. I don't know anything about the oxygen tablets though. Try reading the articles -- there's a button on the left sidebar. Also, there's a whole forum here dedicated to Plants and Planted Tanks.
Good luck. |
