after my fish have been sickly and dieing one by one.. this morning I woke up and found them gasping at the surface for air..
I immediately did a water change and noticed my filter return spray bar the water is barely trickling out..
I disconected reconected everything, cleaned it and and all the tubes, reatached it and nothing.. still no flow
I figured it must be the impeller so I turned the latch at the top (I think this is how you access it and the thing snapped in two)
please help.. I can't figure out how to open the top to free the impleller to replace it.. I can't find a manuel online (mine didn't' come with one) the filter is only 2 years old and costs enough money I don't' want to buy a new one |

I hope you solved the problem by now, if not.....
If you've already removed the cover, to see the impeller, that's it. I just recently bought a 2213. I just have to know how everything works, so I took mine apart before it was even hooked up. The impeller comes out very easy, getting it back in was tricky because the shaft it rides on came out also.
My suggestion... you need to go to a LFS to get the parts anyway. Take the top of the filter with you. They should have simple parts in stock and be able help you put it all together again. I've had good luck with Big Al's in Kitchener, I know there is one in Mississauga.
Good luck! |
