| I currently have a 10 Gallon with a dwarf gourami as the sole inhabitant. I've been thinking about adding another fish or two, or perhaps some shrimp.( I have a power filter so I'm kinda worried about shrimp since they might get sucked into it). what small fish would be best without overstocking? |

a school of tetras and some cories would go well with the dwarf gourami since it is a relatively peaceful fish (except with bettas and other males, to a lesser extent)[/I] _________________ New to fishkeeping? Click the banner

If you're going to go with a school of BOTH Cories and Tetras, go with a smaller species of Tetra, such as Neons, Black Neons, or Cardinals. This will help keep the bioload down, while still letting you have such colorful fish in the tank.
Livebearers, such as Platies and Swordtails also go very well with Dwarf Gouramis, and their fry would offer the occasional treat for your Dwarf Gourami.
I personally recommend Albino Cories, simply because they aren't wild caught.
Good luck! |

I would say some platies as well... I currently have 3 platies along with 2 dwarf gouramis, and they get along nicely! _________________ "color is the keyboard, the eyes are the hammer, the soul is the piano with the strings" - - wassily kandinsky |

| I hope you'll enjoy them! I have some new platies -- first time with platies -- and they are so lively and cute and fun to watch. |

| I had a gourami that was pretty aggressive with all other fish, with the exception of Danios, which are too fast for a gourami to catch. I've heard that most dwarf gouramis are peacful, though. Platys are nice for color if you don't get breeding pairs to overrun your tank. |
