I own a tiger barb with a metallic green color witch is why I bought it 4 months ago but I never got a camera till this Christmas witch is why I never asked if any one has seen this before but any way he is the pics.

and I just noticed in the pics there is some yellow/gold coloration on the gills

There are a couple of other colour versions of Tiger Barbs (Green and Gold) and this one looks like a bit of a mix and match, they all will shoal and breed with the normal Tiger Barb (They are all the same species) and when they do they often come out patchy like your one, good breeders will cull (Kill) fish like this, but there are some pretty poor Tiger Barbs on the market at the moment.

They need to be in shoals of several fish, and it doesn't matter what colour they are, just as long as they are Tiger Barbs.

I used to have green tiger barbs but they died. it was nice when I had all three kinds and they would school togeather.

Its been in my experience that green tiger barbs are little buggers and are way worse fin nippers than normal tigers... just be careful what you have in with them
