1.) #3 - fish4fun - I can only imagine what it must have been like to have a close enconter like that. You must have been blessed with some pretty amazing conditions to capture a picture like that too.
2.) #12 - Marcos Avila - I think AWESOME is a good word to describe this picture. The size of that tank and the size of the whale shark couldn't be described as anything less. I really like how the shark is the only fish you can see in full color and how the people are all silhouetted. Are you sure you didn't just scan in a post card?
3.) #11 - shaun64326 - I live for scenes like this. It's so exciting to find creatures in thier natural habitat... and then to try to recreate that in the home. I typically stay with freshwater but this reminds me of my own snorkling trips.
4.) #25 - Pete Harcoff - I love how soft this picture looks. It's totally serene and peacful yet it's still an action shot.
5.)#23 - Alex Kawazaki - Very vibrant! I love how clear the reflection is and how the lilly pads fade off into the distance. Very well done.
Good job to everyone else. There were a lot of great moments captured and certainly more pics I would like to have chosen, but Marcos said 5 so I picked 5. I like the full tank shots, and the pics of angels, and I also like the pic of the dojo with a hat.
I also really liked tolkien's picture but with lack of a description I didn't have enough inof to vote it into top 5. It reminds me of a certain hobbit setting out on his adventure to Mount Doom. And I actually thought that before I saw the pic was from tolkein.
Congrats everyone.

First place - #25.Pete Harcoff
what can I say...the composition is more than perfect and the soft blue is taking my breath away
Second place - #23.Alex Kawazaki
Alex always opens a new aquatic window for us with his photos.
Third place - #15.lindak
The colors... the light rays coming in from the side...dynamic air bubbles...I feel like trapped inside the Pirates of the Caribbean

I love those colors.
Good work everybody

It was pretty hard to pick a top 5...but here goes:
1st - #25 Pete Harcoff - The moment I saw that photo I knew it was going to be the winner - it's perfect.
2nd - #12 Marcos Avila - I love this photo because I too know how it feels to stand in front of that giant acrylic window and look at all of those big beautiful fish. (that is the Georgia Aquarium, right?)
3rd - #04 Psyfalcon - great detail in the face...and I love lion fish.
4th - #15 lindak - Looks like a happy tank, I like the colors as well.
5th - #23 alex kawazaki - As far as quality of photo, this is arguably the best shot in the contest, I'm just not that into flowers. Beautiful photo however! |

#1 - 25 - Pete Harcoff - Beautiful shot soft and cool toned pastel.
#2 - 8 - Tolkien - I love the shadow beneath the snail, the light of the whole picture and the warm colors
#3 - Dusko - That is one contented fish, and he looks a little chubby.
#4 - Danikins - Danikins poor betta boys bubble nest is all over the place.
He sort of looks a little disgusted with it all.
#5 - Marcos - Breathtaking scene
Also:
#13 - Redmum's mommy and daddy pic, I can't express how beautiful and reassuring it is that natural life goes on and animals and fish know exactly what to do w/o having intervention from people!!
#1 - Petorama - Turtles are so cool and sweet!
#5 - Matt tv1 - Argh! That color, I feel a painting coming on! |

Whoa! Nice work everyone.
Here's my votes:
1. #6- Dusko, I love this picture. Your fish is beautiful! I guess I also like it because I've always been kind of self conscious about the algae on my plants and it sort of proves to me that it happens to everyone!
2. #25- Pete, this picture is amazing. It really captures all that is labyrinth fish!
3. #12- Marcos, all I have to say is WOW! I want to go see that...
4. #5- Matt, your fish looks like it's smiling spitefully. Nice shot- beautiful colours
5. #10 Doosharm, another great one! The colour of the fish contrasts nicely with the rock behind it. This would have been great in last month's contest too.
HONOURABLE MENTION
16- Thomas, your betta is beautiful. He looks just like my beloved Quark, who I bought at walmart out of pity when I saw him lying on the bottom of his cup not moving. Now he is healthy, active, and eats out of my fingers! Such a sweetie.
23- Alex, this pic has such nice colouring! Water lilies are so beautiful.
3- fish4fun, wow! Nice shot. That's amazing that you got that from above water. I love dolphins so much... _________________
