Thank you all for the very nice comments

Misc: I wish I could find some here ..

Can it hold up to the pressure? |
Thank you deborah for noticing the "almost Amano like" rock arrangement .
About rimless tanks: they are 100% safe and strong ( If the guy who makes them is good enough ), they are more attractive than any other type IMO, and since there isn't any rims or cover, it's much cheaper. The tricky part is fighting against stresses and strains as you have mentioned, just fill it with a bit of water every other day and things will go smoothly
Quote: | Is there a cover? Will there be a lot of evaporation? (sorry a bit clueless about 'rimless' tanks). |
well redmum, there is no cover, but even with a cover I always suffer from a rapid evaporation problem (I live in a hot region )
Quote: | Amazing! But can you get the plants to survive? Enough light? CO2? |
I was just going to say Patricia Black that I am willing to make a DIY yeast bottle for CO2 ( money is an issue! ), and I think I will get another light just like the one you see in the pics . I hope the plants will survive!

How strong are the lights? |
Thanks Dusko , I will keep you guys posted. I hope this thread will become a good source for beginners ( though, I'm talentless myself ).
This is a 15W light with a good reflector, but I'm getting another one soon.
Thank you all!

Cool, I get a lot of evap here too... but not as much as you I expect. we are only subtropical, so still need to heat the water. Anyway, it looks great, keep us updated with pics!

Plants seem good and happy, but I'm planning on adding another light.
I might spend just another 10 bucks on it

Thanks Patricia ..
w5yw5y, the secret is planting everything before filling the tank with water!
Please don't be afraid to ask about anything concerning this tank
